Danna Rae (Molland) Helgerson, 71, of Janesville passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at her home. Danna was born in Vernon County, WI on November 15, 1941, one of nine children to Oscar and Myrtle (Zitner) Molland. She was baptized on March 15, 1942 at Northwest Prairie Lutheran Church and was confirmed on May 1, 1955. She graduated from Viroqua High School on May 27, 1959 and from Vernon County Teachers College on June 5, 1961. She taught grade school in the Tomah school district. On September 25, 1965, Danna married Leonard Helgerson. Their daughter, Kathy, was born on February 11, 1967. After moving to Janesville, Danna worked for Dana Corporation, Swing & Slide, Sears and Centerway Floral.. She was a member of First Lutheran Church  and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Danna Helgerson is survived by her daughter, Kathy, sisters, Bea Koch, Joanne (Ben) Davis, Kathryn Nederloe, Emma (John) Oleski, her brother, Sigurd (Cinda) Molland, a sister-in-law who was just like a sister to her, Joan Nedrelo, brothers-in-law, John (Patty) Helgerson, Donald (Rosemary) Helgerson, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard on February 12, 1988. Her parents, 1 sister, Ernestine Koch and 2 brothers, Peter Molland and Oscar Molland also preceded her in death.
Danna loved to pull your leg and laugh with you about it. If you needed to know any of the news in the world she could tell you like it was. The euchre tables at the White Oak will be quieter for a while and her friends there will miss her. God bless her memory.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Funeral services will be at 1:30 Friday, January 18th at Mt. Sterling Lutheran Church, Mt. Sterling, WI. Pastor Bill Horn will officiate. Burial will be in the  Mt. Sterling Lutheran Church Cemetery. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, Janesville and Vosseteig Funeral Home, Gays Mills, WI are assisting the family.
